Why you shouldn’t stress about the ‘Quarantine-15’

Gained a bit of weight during quarantine? That is totally ok!

Living in isolation is stressful, scary, and lonely. All the feelings you’re feeling are normal, but they can also cause overeating or binge-eating.

Whether you’re eating out of boredom, mindlessly snacking while working from home, or relying on food to make you feel better, you are not alone! As someone who lives a healthy lifestyle, I’ve done all of those things, especially during quarantine.

The combination of unhealthy eating, overeating and lack of daily movement, can lead to weight gain - which during this time, many call the ‘quarantine-15’. But, that little bit of weight you’ve gained, can just as easily be lost!

Here are 3 tips I have to shred that ‘quarantine-15’:

  1. Eliminate Temptations

    • “Out of sight, out of mind”! Get rid of the unhealthy snacks in your pantry, and replace them with healthier alternatives. For example, if you crave salty chips, opt in for some cauliflower crisps, or bake your own with fresh sweet potato!

  1. Meal Prep

    • How many times have you ordered delivery during quarantine cause you were too tired/lazy to cook? Probably a few times too many! Meal prepping will not only make sure you have healthy and filling food that’s ready to eat, but will also save you some $$$. Check out my blog post all about meal prepping for one of my favourite recipes.

  1. Find an Accountability Buddy

    • Whether it's your roommate, partner, or a family member, find a buddy to keep you accountable. Changing a habit is not easy, especially during stressful times. Your accountability buddy will be there to push you through the times you want to give up and run back to your unhealthy habits.

If you’re really looking to make a change, and give your body the reset it needs, check out my book “10 Day Reset”. This guide will provide you with tips and tools that will make you look and feel your best in just 10 days.

I personally do this reset 3 times a year, and feel amazing after each one. This reset will help you get rid of the toxins built up in your system, and replace them with fuel from filling whole foods. I love the results, and so do all of my clients that have done this reset program with me!

I want to end this blog post by saying that just because you gained weight during quarantine, does not mean that you need to shred it off! I just want to share my expertise and offer help to those that do. You have one body, and all that matters is that you are happy in it.
